Case Study: City Haze
City Haze is one of New York City’s top emerging Hip Hop artists focused on capturing the attention of both the underground and the mainstream Hip Hop communities. His musical style is distinguished by a clever and cool, easy-listening flow usually complemented by smooth and silky production.
Clout Media undertook a media campaign that was so effective that City Haze captured an 8th Annual Underground Music Award for “#1 Contender” which goes to the underground’s top emerging artist. Together Clout Media and City Haze devised a calculated itinerary for the release of his biggest hits to date including his songs “Lost In Tokyo” produced by Wu-Tang Clan’s legendary producer RZA, his Universal Music Group released single “Tell Me What’s Good” and “Feenin’” featuring mainstream R&B singer Pleasure P along with the release of his debut LP, Star of the City.
Clout Media targeted many of the genre’s top flight websites, blogs and magazines to introduce City Haze and his music to new audiences. We have successfully been able to receive placements for his music with many popular online tastemakers such as XXLMag.com, AllHipHop.com, DJBooth.net, 2DopeBoyz.com and HotNewHipHop.com among others. City Haze was also featured on HipHopDX.com, TheUrbanDaily.com and AOL’s TheBoombox.com as well as in several national and international magazines including Rap Fanatic, Foundation Magazine and Rap-Us Magazine. Combined with a strong social network presence on Myspace, Facebook and Twitter, Clout Media has been able to help establish City Haze as a well-respected Hip Hop artist in a relatively short period of time. ###
