Hailing from small town of Enfield, NC, Derty has establish himself as one of the South’s most promising Hip Hop artists in recent years. From being named “Best Southern Artist” at the 2008 Underground Music Awards and “Best Male Artist” at the Carolina Music Awards in ’09 and ’10 to being recognized as a rising talent by the likes of AllHipHop.com (Breeding Ground), The Source (Independent Grind), and Ozone Magazine (Patiently Waiting), Derty is now on the cusp of greater feats.
Currently, Derty is finishing up hisfirst streetalbum entitled Limitless, which is tentatively set to drop in July, featuring production from platinum producers Ensayne Wayne, Black Jeruz, and Hittman.
Derty believes his music has the right balance of party and meaning in Hip Hop’s lukewarm climate. His energy, delivery, and flow on Limitless will demand a response from listeners and his true life depictions and storytelling style will connect with them on a deeper level.
With the help of his hometown producer Manifest, Derty has developed an unmistakable southern style that have draw comparisons to Snoop and Dre’s West, circa 1990s. Along with hisCarolinagrind, Derty is pushing his way through to the next level of his career by working with a variety of producers and DJs on his projects.
